Holiday Oil, a Salt Lake City-based company that operates 76 convenience store and gas station locations across the Wasatch Front, has announced a number of leadership changes and new hires to its executive team.
Mike Wagstaff, a member of the company’s founding family, has been named CEO and chairman of the board while James Peterson, the current Holiday Oil chief operating officer, assumes the role of president. Wagstaff has also been appointed vice chairman of the board.
Peterson will continue to report to Wagstaff and will lead store strategy, performance and day-to-day operations, the announcement said.

of growth.”
Holiday Oil also announced several other additions to its leadership team.
Ross Davidson, an attorney for more than 19 years with extensive experience in corporate governance, contracts, mergers and acquisitions and real estate, has been named general counsel. Most recently, he served as general manager of legal at Dyno Nobel in Salt Lake City. A seasoned human resources executive, including at PepsiCo, Chris Buhl has been named chief human resources officer.
Jacob Kimmel, with leadership experience across retail and fuel operations, has been named chief of staff, while Heather Salas, a marketer with experience in retail and consumer environments will become director of marketing.
Holiday Oil also announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors. The appointments include Rich Marasco, a food industry executive and culinary innovator, and Brady Brammer, an attorney and member of the Utah Legislature.
Founded in 1964 by Jerry Wagstaff with a single gas station on Redwood Road in Salt Lake City, Holiday Oil remains family-owned with more than 1,000 employees.
