• John Dudash has joined the board of directors of the Utah Manufacturers Association. Dudash is chief executive officer and president of MityLite. Dudash oversees Mity Enterprises, with direct responsibilities leading MityLite in Utah. He also is the chief executive officer of Broda Seating. Prior to MityLite, he was managing director at Sanford Corp., president of Benrz-o-matic, president of Atlantic Luggage Co. and CEO of Illume Candles.

• Bank of Utah, Ogden, has restructured its Corporate Trust Services department and appointed two corporate trust attorneys: Jon Croasman and Michael R. Arsenault. Croasman will serve as vice president corporate trust manager. Arsenault will be vice president corporate trust counsel. Croasman has served as a director at the law firm of Crowe and Dunlevy, specializing in representing banks, airlines and leasing companies in aviation legal work. Prior to that time, he served in leadership roles at Wells Fargo Bank Northwest, including most recently as manager of business development to the Corporate Trust Lease Group. Croasmun holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah and a bachelor’s degree in business information system management from the BYU Marriott School of Management. Arsenault most recently worked in corporate trusts for Well Fargo Bank Northwest, where he provided guidance on federal and state regulatory corporate trust services appointments. Prior to that, he provided legal advice and counsel for Sundance Corp. and ATK Thiokol. Arsenault graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics from the University of Utah and went on to earn a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah.
• Brighton Bank has named Joseph W. Porter and Brett K. Jensen as vice presidents and commercial loan officers. Porter will serve at the Cottonwood office, 7101 S. Highland Drive, Cottonwood Heights. He has more than 35 years of banking, financial and sales management, SBA and commercial real estate loan production, business development and technology administration experience. Jensen is at the South Salt Lake office, 93 W. 3300 S., Salt Lake City. He has more than 15 years of local commercial, real estate and mortgage financing experience along with extensive SBA management and lending experience. • Zions Bancorporation, Salt Lake City, has announced that its board of directors has declared a regular quarterly dividend of 6 cents per common share. The dividend is payable Feb. 25 to shareholders of record on Feb. 18. The board also declared the regular quarterly cash dividends on the company’s various perpetual preferred shares. The cash dividends on the series A, F, G, H and J shares are payable March 15 to shareholders of record on March 1. The series I cash dividends are payable June 15 to shareholders of record on June 1.
ECONOMIC INDICATORS
• Utah is among 10 states listed in the category titled “Building Equality” in the Human Rights Campaign’s second annual national report assessing the status of state legislation affecting LGBT equality nationwide. The State Equality Index reveals that, even with historic progress on marriage equality, there are extraordinary state-to-state disparities in LGBT non-discrimination protections, including in the workplace, and efforts continue by equality opponents to pass state-level legislation that would sanction discrimination and undermine even minimal existing protections, the Human Rights Campaign said. Six states and the District of Columbia were in the highest-rated of the four categories. Six states are in the category “Solidifying Equality.” Twenty-eight states were in the lowest-rated category. • The University of Utah has named Jason Perry the director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics. Perry will continue as the university’s vice president for government relations. Perry became interim director of the Hinckley Institute in June 2015 following the departure of Kirk Jowers, who left his decade-long leadership post at the institute to pursue a career in private industry. Perry became vice president for government relations at the UofU in 2011 and is also an adjunct professor at the U’s S.J. Quinney College of Law. Prior to his arrival at the university, Perry served as the chief of staff to Gov. Gary Herbert and also served as executive director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
GOVERNMENT
• Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski has reappointed Maureen Riley as executive director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports, which oversees Salt Lake City International Airport, South Valley Regional Airport in West Jordan, and Tooele Valley Airport in Erda. Riley was originally appointed in 2007 by then-Mayor Ralph Becker. Prior to coming to Salt Lake City, Riley spent 13 years at Orlando International Airport in a variety of roles, including deputy executive director of finance and administration.
• A new dashboard, or website tool, will allow the public to track progress on a range of Salt Lake County services in the metro area. Salt Lake MetroStat will allow people to check statistics tracked by the county to measure progress on health, safety, the economy and public works. Salt Lake MetroStat’s information is organized in four broad categories: healthy people, healthy places, expanded opportunities and responsive government. Behind each category is a series of goals and an explanation about which indicators the county is tracking. Results are displayed in real time and new goals and metrics will be added over time. • Modere, Springville, has appointed Josh Kirschbaum as chief operations officer and Brad Christensen as chief information office. Kirschbaum has experience in the health and wellness and personal care industries, most recently as chief operating officer at Gilchrist & Soames. Prior to that, he was COO of NuWorld Beauty and served in various leadership positions at L’Oreal and Colgate-Palmolive. Christensen has more than 25 years of information technology experience, including leading all aspects of software engineering, design and development, technical product management, enterprise resource planning and global infrastructure for companies such as Novell and FamilySearch.org.
• The Davis County Commission has launched a new prescription discount program in the county. The Coast2Coast Rx prescription discount card will allow all county residents — regardless of income, age or health status — to participate in the program and save on the cost of their medications. The program saved cardholders throughout the nation an average of 65 percent in 2015 on the cost of prescription drugs. Even pets and other people living outside the county are able to take part in the program. The Rx card will be distributed free of charge and may be used at all pharmacy chains and most independent pharmacies in Davis County and includes over 60,000 drugs in its formulary.

• Four Goods Group, American Fork, has announced that Christopher B. Munday has joined its board of directors. Munday has served as chairman and chief executive officer as well as board member of numerous companies globally and has significant consumer and retail expertise.
LODGING
• The Hyatt Escala Lodge has been rebranded as Hyatt Centric Park City. The facility, with 150 guest rooms, is in the Canyons Village area of Park City. The Hyatt Centric brand has been created for millennial-minded travelers who are looking for authentic local experiences in the center of the destinations. The vision for Hyatt Centric hotels is to collaborate with regional food and beverage purveyors to provide guests and locals with cuisine crafted by in-demand chefs and introduce high-quality amenities.

• CoreBrace LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SME Industries Inc., has purchased Star Seismic, Park City, Utah. Both companies will operate under the name of CoreBrace LLC. Both are involved in the engineering and fabrication of buckling restrained braces (BRBs). CoreBrace fabrication facilities in West Jordan will relocate to a 75,000-square-foot facility in Pocatello, Idaho, within three months. Engineering, sales and executive offices will remain in West Jordan.

• ThomasArts, Farmington, has hired Tom Pratt as executive director of creative and business development. Pratt has 30 years of experience in the advertising industry as a creative director, having spent the past 10 years at McGarry Bowen in New York City.
PHILANTHROPY
• John E. Lindquist, president of Lindquist Mortuaries and Great Western Insurance, has pledged $5 million to help with an extensive remodel of Weber State University’s Social Science Building. The building will then bear his name. The building opened in 1972, serves 4,000 people a day and houses all 12 departments and programs in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences, including history, political science, psychology and military science (ROTC). The university is requesting just under $30 million in state funding to complete the extensive renovation.
• The Cancer Wellness House, Salt Lake City, is the first nonprofit organization to benefit from the generosity of the Cancierge Foundation, a philanthropic fund administered by the Community Foundation of Utah aimed at supporting nonprofits that are improving the quality of lives of cancer patients. With help from the Cancierge Foundation, Cancer Wellness House recently updated its kitchen with a new stove and freezer. The additional grant award of $5,000 will allow Cancer Wellness House to offer other respite activities such as transportation, through the Cancer Wellness House Cares program. Thanks to the relationships of the Cancierge Foundation, many service providers are offering their services at reduced rates, in order to get the most out of the donated funds. Partners such as Uber, Maidpro and Rasmussen Landscapes have all pledged their support for this programming.

• Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. (PRMI), Salt Lake City, has opened its 14th branch in Utah, at 1031 W. Center St., Orem. An open house will take place 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Feb. 23. The branch is managed by Julie Crow, who has 21 years of experience in the mortgage industry.
• Kisco Senior Living has acquired a 183-unit independent and assisted living community located in Sandy. Formerly Atria at Sandy, the newly renamed Cedarwood at Sandy community is on six acres at 10970 S. 700 E. and includes 122 independent and 61 assisted living residences. Kisco also acquired four acres adjacent to Cedarwood that was formerly a nursing home. Kisco will build a new assisted living and memory care addition to be called Cedar Court. Construction on the 100-unit addition will begin later this year. Kisco specializes in senior lifestyle options across seven states. This is its second Utah location, with Sagewood at Daybreak in South Jordan being the other.
• Regal Entertainment Group has executed its first lease in Utah and will have a grand opening later this year at The Crossroads of Taylorsville. The 14-screen multiplex will seat 1,400 people and occupy 60,860 square feet. Representatives of the primary deal participants include Ira Mitchell from IJM on behalf of the landlord, Candace Gray of Envision Realty Advisors on behalf of Regal Cinemas as well as the landlord’s retail broker, Coldwell Banker Commercial. The Crossroads of Taylorsville is being developed by S-Squared Development.
• Oakwood Homes, based in Colorado and with its Utah division based in Murray, has opened a new home development at 1900 S. 1000 W., Syracuse. Tivoli Gardens is Oakwoods’ 10th community in Davis County and features 64 single-family home sites and a neighborhood children’s play area, coming soon.
RECOGNITIONS
• Landesk, Salt Lake City, has been named the 2016 Business of the Year by the Utah Association for Career and Technical Education (UACTE). The award is presented to an organization that has demonstrated its commitment to career and technical education (CTE) through partnerships and continuous support of CTE professionals in Utah. Since 2013, Landesk has provided all employees around the world with paid time off to contribute to STEM education in their communities. In January, several employees volunteered to teach a beginning computer programming course in the Jordan School District, which helped jump-start computer science education across the district.
• Sagewood at Daybreak, a full-service senior living community, has been named the “2016 55+ Community of the Year” by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This community was recognized during the Best of 55+ Housing Awards, presented at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas earlier this month. The award recognizes 55-plus housing that goes beyond just a home and encompasses design elements, community planning and lifestyle considerations for seniors, including walkability, amenities and ease of use. Sagewood includes 99 independent living homes, 55 assisted living homes and two intimate households with 23 private accommodations for residents needing more personal care.
• The Tree Room at Sundance Resort has been named to OpenTable’s list of “2016 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America.” The list reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 20,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.
• Salt Lake City recently was recognized by the White House and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its efforts to unlock access to energy data for building owners and improve energy efficiency. Since 2013, Salt Lake City has partnered with Rocky Mountain Power and Questar to provide whole-building energy data access to building owners through the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Portfolio Manager Tool. The effort, which is on track for completion in 2017, will ensure effortless energy data management for building owners, providing a complete picture as to building energy use and enabling them to employ more responsive strategies. • At Home, based in Texas, has opened a store at 190 S. 500 W., West Bountiful. The store occupies more than 88,000 square feet and is the third store for the big-box retailer of home décor products, which operates more than 100 stores in 28 states. The new store has 25 employees.
• Vail Resorts Inc. has announced that its retail division, Vail Resorts Retail (VRR), will open a new The North Face concept store at 515 Main St., Park City, located in the space of the former Talisker on Main restaurant. VRR has entered into a long-term lease with Talisker on the 2,780-square-foot space, where it will feature The North Face brand’s performance apparel, equipment and footwear for climbers, mountaineers, skiers, snowboarders, endurance runners and explorers. VRR has filed a building permit application with Park City to begin construction on the interior space of the building that dates to 1884 and was originally occupied by Star Meat & Grocery. VRR plans to open up and lighten the space while preserving and enhancing the historic elements of the building.
• Loren Kornreich is the new owner of Zanté Spa, a day spa at the base of Deer Valley Resort. Kornreich joined Zanté in 2014, coming from a background at the Spa Montage at Montage Deer Valley. Before joining Montage, Kornreich served as spa director at resorts in Hawaii, Arizona, Florida and Colorado.

• InContact, Salt Lake City, has appointed Randy Littleson as chief marketing officer. Littleson will be responsible for the direction, strategy and overall management of inContact’s marketing efforts. Littleson has more than 25 years of executive-level marketing experience in the software industry, most recently with Flexera Software. During his time with Flexera, Littleson was a senior member of the executive team with global responsibility for marketing, product management and corporate development. He also held executive-level roles with product management and marketing responsibilities at Kinaxis, Interface Software, InstallShield Software, Spyglass Inc. and Palindome.
