Jensen Hughes, a global fire and life safety, security and risk-based engineering and consulting firm in Columbia, Maryland, has acquired Safety Management Services Inc. (SMS), a West Jordan-based engineering firm specializing in process safety hazards analysis and materials consulting and testing.
SMS serves a wide range of commercial clients and government agencies, including national laboratories and defense operations. Founded in 1998, SMS provides process hazard analysis, material characterization testing, facility siting and design for explosives operations, regulatory compliance, OSHA safety program development and auditing, accident investigation, demolition operations, training and other risk management services. The firm also manufactures materials testing equipment. The company has projects across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, India, South Korea and Australia.
