ASSOCIATIONS
• The Salt Lake Chapter of the Brigham Young University Management Society has named Steven Roberts as its chapter president for 2026. He succeeds Michael Poulter. Roberts is the manager of Deseret Transportation for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and serves on the board of directors for the National Private Truck Council. An active member of the Management Society for many years, Roberts previously served as chairman of the Scholarship Committee, where he played a key role in awarding need- and merit-based scholarships to outstanding students across Utah. Roberts earned a degree in chemical engineering and an MBA from BYU.
HEALTH CARE
• CancerVax Inc., a Lehi-based pre-clinical biotechnology company developing a universal cancer treatment platform, has named George Kemble as a senior scientific advisor. Kemble is a veteran biotech executive and scientist with a specialty focus in the areas of virology, vaccines and small molecule biologics. He currently is chairman of the board at Sagimet Biosciences Inc. He joined Sagimet in August 2011 as its chief scientific officer and served as CEO from October 2015 until October 2022, when he transitioned to the role of executive chairman. In May 2025, Kemble moved into the role of non-executive chair of the board. Prior to Sagimet, Kemble served as the senior vice president of research and development and head of research at MedImmune Inc., a subsidiary of AstraZeneca PLC.
• Halia Therapeutics, based in Lehi, has hired Gul Sanliturk as director of international market development and strategic communications. She will be based in Abu Dhabi to support business development and marketing efforts. Sanliturk has over a decade of experience blending clinical expertise and marketing strategy, specializing in B2B and B2C marketing for health care and technology sectors. Her expertise spans strategic planning, digital transformation, workflow optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
INVESTMENTS
• Wasatch Health (formerly Med Venture Health), a Salt Lake City-based private equity and growth investor focused on innovative life sciences and medical technology companies, has added Brennen Brown to its leadership team as a managing partner and leader of the firm’s capital markets strategy and internal operations. Brown has more than 15 years of experience at Goldman Sachs and D.A. Davidson. He graduated from Brigham Young University and serves on several boards, including Utah Africa Mission, which he co-founded to help alleviate poverty in East Africa.

• VetTemps, a Salt Lake City-based nationwide relief veterinary staffing agency, has appointed John Brooks Slaughter II as medical director and brand ambassador. Over the next five years, he will lead recruiting and retention, training and professional development, and thought leadership and advocacy. Slaughter has practiced across general medicine, emergency/critical care, integrative medicine, and advanced diagnostics for nearly two decades. Most recently, he worked as an independent high-level relief veterinarian throughout the Mid-Atlantic region while lecturing on business management at Chi University. Before his full-time clinical practice, Slaughter worked 15 years in financial services, rising to senior vice president at First Union Securities (now Wells Fargo) and first vice president at Morgan Stanley.
