ARTS
• Ballet West has appointed Erika Stone as senior director of external affairs. She succeeds Andrew Goldberg, who is now serving as executive director with Memphis Ballet. Stone has a combination of artistic and administrative expertise. Her career began in Los Angeles as an actor before relocating to Juneau, Alaska, where she was cast in Vera Starbard’s “Our Voices Will Be Heard” at Perseverance Theatre. She subsequently served at Perseverance, first as development director and then as director of marketing while continuing to perform. Her most recent stage appearances include “Gloria: A Life,” performed at McCarter Theatre Center, and at American Repertory Theater. Prior to joining Ballet West, Stone served as marketing director for the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts and the School of the Arts at Utah Valley University. Stone’s education includes a Master of Arts in Communication from Southern Utah University.

• Five Star Franchising, a Springville-based platform of home service franchise brands, has named Ben Fox as chief growth officer, Andrew Mengason as chief revenue officer and Colt Florence as chief development officer. Fox will focus on enterprise-wide growth initiatives, facilitating strategic expansion and accelerated marketing across the platform. Mengason will focus on driving systemwide performance, including leading Five Star national accounts programs to expand referral and revenue opportunities for franchise owners. Florence will lead franchise development across Five Star’s portfolio. Five Star Franchising brands have more than 1,600 total locations across North America. The brands include Five Star Bath Solutions, Gotcha Covered, Bio-One, Mosquito Shield, 1-800-Packouts and Card My Yard.

• Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has named Chris Klomp as chief counselor of HHS and to oversee all operations of the department. Klomp has decades of management and leadership experience, including serving as director of Medicare and deputy administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and as senior advisor to Kennedy. Klomp built and led Collective Medical, a real-time care collaboration data network, acquired by PointClickCare in 2020. Through Endurance Cos., a San Francisco-based multi-family office he co-founded, he has co-founded, invested in, advised and served on the board of health care organizations, including Nomi Health, Maven Clinic, InnovaCare Health and Health Joy. Klomp also served as commissioner of the Utah Digital Health Services Commission, was vice president in Bain Capital’s North American Private Equity group and worked at Bain & Co. Klomp’s education includes B.A. degrees in economics and English from Brigham Young University.

• Dymicron, an Orem-based, privately held medical device company focused on next-generation spinal motion-preservation technology, has appointed Peter Wehrly to its board of directors. Wehrly has more than 40 years of leadership experience, including roles as CEO, president, chairman and global P&L leader across medical technology organizations. He has led medical device companies through regulatory approval, clinical evidence generation and global market adoption. His executive experience includes serving as CEO and chairman of Synaptive Medical, U.S. president and board member at Premia Spine, and group president for Covidien’s global operations across Western Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He previously held senior leadership roles at Medtronic Spine & Biologics, Johnson & Johnson, Vivex Biologics and Titan Spine.
