Redo Tech will redo its job count in Draper, with plans to add 682 high-paying positions over the next five years.
The more than $3.3 million expansion is a step toward the company having 1,000 employees by 2030, Sterling Snow, CEO and founder, told the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity board. At its July meeting, the board approved a tax credit incentive of up to $2.1 million over five years for the project.
“We are very excited to be able to commit more and more heavily to Utah hiring and building Redo here,” Snow told the board, adding that the company now has 100 employees.
Founded in 2022, Redo Tech Inc. is a technology company focused on supporting e-commerce brands. It offers a platform for brands to manage orders, returns, marketing campaigns, customer support and more. The company’s website says it offers “personalization at every touchpoint.”
Snow said the company started in Pleasant Grove “in kind of a little one-person shack” about two years ago and its list of brands has grown to nearly 3,000. The company has five startups, with each growing rapidly, he said.
“We think there’s something very exciting to be built here,” Snow told the board. “We think that the team and the place to do it is here in Utah.”
In a news release about the project, Kellie Challburg, Draper’s assistant city manager, said the expansion “highlights Draper’s appeal as a hub for innovative companies, and we’re proud to support them as they grow and thrive in our community.”
“We’re happy to welcome them and we’re excited that this Utah-based company is doing so well,” Challburg told the board. “And we’re happy to have them in Draper and hope that they succeed, and we’re here for anything they might need.”
“Can’t wait to see what you do, my friends. … We love these startups and we love Silicon Slopes,” board chair Carine Clark told company officials after the tax credit approval.
The expansion project is expected to generate new total wages of nearly $214.6 million over five years, with average pay of $119,375 for the new jobs. New state tax revenue is projected at nearly $10.6 million during that time.
“Utah is gaining national recognition as a leader in the IT and software industry,” Jefferson Moss, GOEO executive director, said in a prepared statement. “This sector is driving innovation, scaling growth, and solving complex, real-world challenges. Companies like Redo are equipping brand owners with powerful tools to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences. As Utah’s Silicon Slopes evolves, return automation stands out as a key driver of business competitiveness in a fast-changing marketplace.”
“We’ve got a special love for Utah and believe it’s one of the best places to live and work in the world,” Snow said in a prepared statement. “Utah has been an incredible place to build and scale Redo. It’s where we started, and it’s where we’re committed to keep growing. Being a homegrown Utah company means a lot to us. We’ve built our team here, found incredible talent here, and benefited from a culture that truly supports innovation and entrepreneurship. The leadership from Gov. [Spencer] Cox and GOEO continues to make Utah a standout place to scale a modern business. We’re grateful for their commitment and excited to deepen our roots in a state that believes in building for the future.”
GOEO does not provide upfront cash incentives. Each year that an incentivized company meets the obligations in its contract with GOEO, it will qualify to receive a portion of the new, additional state taxes the company paid to the state.
