Salt Lake Community College’s NexStep Leadership workshops have three more events set up for spring, with the first one set for March 11, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Our NexStep leadership workshops are designed to energize and equip your team with the skills that matter most,” said Paul Glanton, manager in Custom Training Solutions (CTS). “With over 2,000 professionals already trained, these workshops help participants build the confidence and capability to lead effectively in today’s fast-paced work environments. Through engaging, hands-on sessions, attendees develop practical skills in communication, coaching, conflict resolution and more — all essential for driving team and organizational success.”
The workshops are held at the school’s Westpointe Training and Education Center, 1060 N. Flyer Way, east of Salt Lake International Airport. Each full-day session includes lunch to ensure a seamless and productive day of training. Eligible participants may qualify for Custom Fit funding, enhancing accessibility and affordability. If there are 10 or more participants, the college also offers private on-site workshops that are tailored to an organization’s specific needs, providing a personalized learning experience.
Glanton said the next three workshops and subject matters are as follows:
March 11: Leading Change. Successful change is intentional, strategic and people-focused. This interactive workshop is designed to equip leaders, managers and change agents with the tools and confidence to guide their teams through transition.
April 15: Leading Teams. Effective teams don’t just happen, they are intentionally built, nurtured and led. This day-long workshop offers leaders the tools and frameworks to evaluate team performance, align vision and purpose, and foster a culture of trust and learning.
June 17: Leading with Strategic Planning: Leaders need more than a plan; they need the ability to inspire others, foster collaboration and solve problems in ways that align with a shared vision. Through a blend of interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will explore the power of distributed leadership, the central role of relationships in strategic success, and methods to turn vision into action.
