Swig, a Sandy-based player in the “dirty soda” beverage category, has announced the promotion of Todd Smith to president, following his tenure as chief commercial officer. Swig also appointed franchise sales representative Shannon Swenson to chief of franchise partnerships.
“We’re at a major moment for dirty soda,” said Alex Dunn, CEO of Swig. “People crave playful, personalized drinks, and Swig is here to deliver, coast to coast. Todd’s vision, Shannon’s franchising prowess and the talent of Swig’s leaders and team members alike are the perfect combination to fuel our bold growth and make Swig everyone’s go-to stop for something delicious, unique and totally customizable.”
As chief commercial officer, Smith led everything from supply chain operations and real estate acquisitions to restaurant construction. As president, he will drive Swig’s expansion — from scouting locations to overseeing the building of new company-owned stores and partnering with Swenson to drive the franchise program across the U.S.
“I’m grateful to Alex and the rest of the executive leadership team for their faith in me as we embark on this journey of growth together,” Smith said. “Swig has always set the standard for drink creativity, and now we’re ready to share our one-of-a-kind experience with even more fans nationwide.”
Swenson brings franchise development experience to Swig. Before joining the company, she helped Dave’s Hot Chicken, as senior vice president of franchise development, to scale the brand to 360 locations worldwide, over 1,400 franchise commitments and a billion-dollar valuation.
“Swig has all the markers of a breakout franchise,” Swenson said. “It has crave-worthy products, a proven concept with over 120 locations, high-margin operations and a world-class leadership team with an unmatched company culture. I’m excited to help scale this rocket ship and bring its ‘day-making’ philosophy to communities across the country.”
Founded in 2010, Swig now has over 120 locations in 16 states.
