UMB Bank NA, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corp., has opened its first Utah branch at 911 E. Fort Union Blvd. in Midvale.
The newly constructed, full-service branch supports UMB’s continued growth in Utah, including expanding its offerings to include retail services. It also expands UMB’s national branch footprint to 14 states.
“Opening a branch in Utah is an important step in our growth story,” David Andersen, regional president for UMB Bank, said in a release. “Utah’s strong business climate and entrepreneurial energy align well with UMB’s relationship-driven approach. This new space allows us to better serve our clients, support our growing team, and further ingrain ourselves in the community. ”
Founded in 1913 in Kansas City, Missouri, UMB has grown from a hometown bank into a leading, regional banking powerhouse. UMB supports individuals and businesses with comprehensive banking services, offering the products and services of a national bank, paired with the exceptional and personalized service of a community bank.
“Leading up to this milestone, UMB already held nearly $2 billion in loans in Utah,” Andersen said. “We look forward to building on this momentum and serving our clients with even greater scale and resources, while maintaining our local decision-making and personal service model. This is an incredible community, and we’re very excited for our future in Utah.”
Along with its new Utah location, UMB will open a new branch in Carefree, Arizona, in March.
“Our branches provide an intentional space for people to conduct business, have important financial conversations, and form relationships that positively contribute to their financial well-being, which is why opening this branch in Salt Lake City is a meaningful step for us in the region,” said UMB Financial Corp. Chairman and CEO Mariner Kemper. “As we continue to grow and expand, we remain committed to offering our customers valuable in-person and digital banking options. From a business perspective, we’re excited for the additional opportunities our evolving branch network will provide in Utah and beyond.”
UMB has 100 associates in Salt Lake City and 268 in Utah, which includes its Fund Services operations in Ogden and its corporate trust services in Cottonwood Heights.
