Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah has announced that several people have earned endowed chair appointments. Endowed chairs provide philanthropic support that fuels high-impact cancer research; strengthens scientific leadership; and accelerates breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Douglas Sborov, a physician-scientist who studies multiple myeloma at Huntsman Cancer Institute and serves as a professor of medicine at the University of Utah, has been appointed the Craig and Marianne Meacham Endowed Chair in Hematological Oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute. This is Sborov's first endowed chair recognition.
